Selective
Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Systems
Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) is classified as Best
Available Control Technology (BACT) for NOx abatement by the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency in many industrial applications. CSM
designs, manufactures and installs high-performance SCR systems that have
been classified BACT in certain applications in some of the most stringent
air districts, including the South Coast Air Quality Management District
(SCAQMD) of Southern California.
CSM specializes in supplying small- to medium-scale,
skid-mounted systems for exhaust flow rates ranging from 1,000 to 70,000
SCFM. Our customers appreciate the many benefits of our pre-piped,
pre-wired and shop-tested SCR systems, including:
- NOx emissions below 5 ppm
- Ammonia slip below 5 ppm
- Lower capital and operating costs
- Quick delivery
- Integrated design
- Simple installation
- Low installation costs
- Increased engineering support
- Energy-efficient design
- Increased operational flexibility
Our SCR systems treat NOx-laden gaseous streams by means of a
specialty SCR catalyst to selectively react injected ammonia or urea with
the available NOx to produce harmless nitrogen and water vapor. NOx
reduction of 90 to 97% is typical using a CSM SCR system tailored to your
particular needs. Our systems also reduce CO by as much as 99%.
Economically adaptable to many stationary engine, packaged
boiler and process heater designs, CSM SCR systems can be used on new
equipment or field-retro-fitted to existing equipment such as industrial
process boilers, heat treating furnaces, ovens and heaters, and thermal
oxidizers. Application areas include:
- Power generation - including
stationary engines (diesel and natural gas), gas-fired turbines,
distributed generation systems and cogeneration systems
- Heat recovery and steam generation
- Industrial processing
- Thermal oxidation
- Chemical processing
